This black goes from the top of the Aiguille Rouge to the Lanchettes lift where it continues as a red run of the same name.
It's fantastic - it's very long, scenic, a great gradient and often not that busy due to the limited capacity of the Aiguille Rouge Cable Car (beware: you may have to wait in line for a long time to catch this lift).
Definitely one of the best black runs anywhere in Europe and a must do for anyone capable of blacks.
Be aware that this black run is steep at the top and often moguled - but the red Arandelières run intersects it many times, before diving off to the left, so it's possible to avoid these steep, narrow and moguled parts.
Often at this altitude the snow is very good, and although this run can get icy on the steeper bits, it usually holds snow well.
After the initial steep sections which are possible to avoid, there is nearly always a groomed way down.
This black levels out as you get closer to the crest of the ridge on the right- it is great for experienced skiers to carve! There are numerous inviting looking off-piste options to the left - but often there are cliffs, and speed-riders often leave tracks that you would be advised not to follow.
ONLY venture off the side of this black run (left or right) if you know exactly where you are going and what you are doing.
Enjoy this great run and continue down to Villaroger on the red if conditions are good lower down.
