The Fans is a low angle black diamond section of wide open powder fields that many of the Gold Hill Chutes (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5) feed into.

The snow stays pretty good here in The Fans, and you can often find yourself an untracked line or two.

There are lots of fun and diverse line options in this area.

The snow from the Gold Hill Chutes pours into the fans, making the snow here deep and really good.

The only way to really access The Fans is by hiking to the Gold Hill Chutes and skiing them into this area.

Even if the snow isn't that great in the chutes, it's worth skiing them to be able to ski in the powder fields of The Fans at the end of your run.
