Analysing terrain data
Snow Rodeo is a true Revelstoke Mountain Resort classic, that has sections of both blue and black diamond difficulty.
The first major open run off the Stoke Chair when unloading to the right, the first pitches are somewhat steep but fair and usually groomed.
After crossing The Last Spike, the run gets steeper and a little more unkempt until well below the Ninja Traverse.
Once it crosses The Last Spike the always-groomed section begins.
Unfortunately these pitches in the middle of the mountain are very high traffic and consequently are often rutted and thin especially at the convex rolls just after crossings of The Last Spike road.
The angle eases for one amazing stretch, and then descends to Revelation Lodge.
Lowest Snow Rodeo, past the Tunnel of Love bridge, offers one steep pitch that can be easily avoided with use of The Last Spike, and then continues to the base of the mountain.
Another 5000' / 1700m leg-burning epic, this is a must-do on the Revy bucket list, even though not all the sections are always equal in quality.
