Analysing terrain data
The runs off of the ridge below the top of Shirley Lake Express are all named after former Squaw Valley ski school directors.
They used to be called the Tree runs, and this is the 1st one from the chair, so you will hear them referred to as the 1st or 2nd Tree run, etc.
This one has the steepest pitch and flattens out where it merges with the others below the trees separating the Tree runs.
You can continue left or right of center as you ski down, both sides meet up at the bottom.
The runs off of the ridge get easier as you go down the ridge, with the 5th being the easiest.
