Außerraschötz, 2282 m
Sunny balcony with panoramic views for connoisseursThe Raschötzer Alm is a contrasting mountain: while it breaks off to the north with steep walls into the Villnöss valley, it spreads out to the south a gentle plateau, a true paradise for snowshoe hikers. The western corner point is the Außerraschötz, a beautiful peak with an impressive wood carving cross from Val Gardena, which is why it is also called the Raschötz Cross. Two managed huts tempt their guests with South Tyrolean delicacies and a panoramic view of Sassolungo. Since a modern funicular railway replaced the old chairlift in 2010, the Raschötzer Alm has received a lot of visitors from winter hikers and tobogganists who romp about on levelled paths. On our high-altitude hike, on the other hand, we are usually alone.
