Analysing terrain data
Skye Burst (upper) is a major intermediate trail at Killington.
To access this location, either take the Skyeship Gondola Stage II out of the Needle’s Eye area or the Skye Peak Express Quad out of Bear Mountain (which is the best choice and the most direct route).
Exit the lift to the left and proceed to the top section of Skye Burst.
The top is the steepest spot, so if you are unsure, trust that it gets easier once you clear the headwall section.
This trail is very wide and long.
It is a major express way and you will find a lot of people bombing down this run.
Ski and ride with a lot of caution, especially at the intersection of The Stash and Bear Claw.
This is THE most dangerous spot in Killington.
There will be people flying at speed down Bear Claw, which is often icy, and often freestylers flying out of The Stash with no control.
If you want to stay on all sections of Skye Burst, stay to skier’s left before that intersection.
Note that Skye Burst (middle) is a marked black diamond and it is very steep on that short section.
It is also often skied off and icy.
If you take this to the bottom, it will continue on as Skye Burst (lower) and back to a marked blue intermediate run.
A long and wide intermediate trail with variable terrain that's great for people looking to connect to the Bear Mountain base area from Skye Peak.
