Analysing terrain data
Old Superstar is a black diamond trail and a hidden gem.
To access this location, you need to take the Superstar Express Quad from the K1 base or The K1 Gondola to the Peak.
The easiest route is the Superstar Express Quad.
Exit the lift to the right and proceed on to Nivis Walk.
This is very narrow with a steep ledge to skier’s right.
Be kind to others on this as it is flat and there will be people looking to descend off Ovation Headwall (unmarked) to skier’s right.
You will take a sharp RIGHT turn when this dumps out on to Launch Pad.
BEWARE of occasional freestylers doing tricks off to the skier’s right of Launchpad as you merge.
Proceed and pass Ovation (upper) on your left.
Take the next left on to Old Superstar.
This trail has all natural snow with no snow-making, so the quality is great when there is good cover.
This is a must-do on a powder day.
It is short and wide.
If you hang to skier’s left, you will get moguls.
If you stay to skier’s right, you will get overgrown brush but with fantastic lines.
At the end, you can go left and get to Ovation (upper) and Ovation (lower), or go right to get on to Superstar.
These are all black diamond trails.
A perfect advanced trail for people looking for a wide and well-lit advanced trail with varied terrain.
