Wildfire is a popular black diamond trail at the top of Bear Mountain.
The best way to access this location is to take the Bear Mountain Quad and exit the lift straight ahead, before taking a sharp right turn on to the upper section of Wildfire.
You can also access Wildfire by taking the Superstar Express Quad and the Skye Ship Stage II Gondola and look to aim to get on Gateway from either one of those.
Take Gateway to Bear Claw and then keep your speed up and traverse across as high as you can to get to the top of Wildfire.
From the top of Wildfire, you will usually find bumps.
There will be snow-making on this trail as well and it gets groomed from time to time.
This is a popular black diamond run.
Use caution when you reach the huge intersection where Skye Burst and Bear Claw merge.
This is the most dangerous intersection at Killington and is the host of many collisions.
As you proceed through the intersection, stay to skier’s right and then stay to the right to take Wildfire all the way down to the base area.
The middle part is usually groomed with a double fall line.
Continue on and, as you approach going under the Skye Peak Express Quad the second time, expect a good mogul run all the way down to the base.
This trail gets varied light and is perfect for people who are looking for a good black diamond run in the Bear Mountain area.
