Needle’s Eye (lower) is a great, wide intermediate trail in the Needle’s Eye area.
The best way to access this location is to take the Needle’s Eye Express Quad and exit the lift to the left.
Go straight down a short pitch knoll on to Great Eastern and then take an immediate left once you get to the bottom of the knoll on to the top of Needle’s Eye (lower).
You can also take the Skyeship Gondola Stage II to Great Eastern and stay on skier’s left until you get to Needle’s Eye (lower) on the left.
This is a massively wide trail by east coast standards and one that should not be passed on.
There are three zones on this trail.
If you go to the far side of skier’s left, you will find moderate moguls and bumpers lined up and waiting for their turn down that lane.
If you take the center zone, it is usually groomed and the best spot for cruising and carving.
If you take the far skier’s right under the gondola, you are likely to find rugged terrain, exposed rock, slight drop offs and moguls.
This section is all natural snow and awesome on a powder day.
The center and left zones get a lot of snow-making.
This trail gets a lot of light.
A great intermediate trail with some challenging and rough terrain, as well as a wide groomer.
