Analysing terrain data
Starting at the summit of Serre Chevalier with a spectacular view towards the Écrins national park, this snakes it's way down from the high ridge at the top down to the open bowl below and then into the trees before ending up at Serre Ratier, where your effort will be rewarded by the sight of no less than four mountain restaurants! The only downside to this run is the sometimes hectic section that funnels into a narrow path a few hundred metres from the end.
With skiers of all levels all travelling at different speeds, this part can be daunting for those short on confidence.
Also, the snow here can get pushed into big bumps from lunchtime onwards further complicating the task.
This is undeniably the weak link in what is otherwise a fantastic, varied and manageable run for anyone moving beyond snowplough turns.
But don't let it put you off as you'd be missing out.
If you've got 5 minutes and a few calories to spare, take a little walk up to the orientation table just above where you get off the lift.
Then just admire the view.
