Description

Avalanche is an odd run that connects Gros Ventre with Sundance right around the South Pass Traverse.

It begins as an extension of the wide traverse that is parallel but downhill of Solitude Traverse (this traverse is technically a left fork of Amphitheater and crosses under the Marmot Chair).

You can also find it by riding Gros Ventre until a few hundred feed above South Pass Traverse (in between the third and the fourth cat-track crossing the run).

Direct yourself skier’s left through a thinned path through the trees over South Pass Traverse and into Sundance.

This run is not exact and more of a thinned forest area until after the South Pass Traverse where the run is a more defined cut in the trees.
