Wide open and wind loaded bowl with bumps

Head left off of Chair 1 along the cat track for a short traverse to access Avalanche Bowl.

This is a north facing zone with the majority of snow loading to skiers left and rocky outcrops towards the eastern edge, although these are usually roped off.

Top section is steep moguls which empties into a wide mouth where several other runs begin.

High winds during storms often result in twice the snow accumulating in the pockets between bumps.

If you are new to the area a little caution is necessary when scoring freshies as the wind loading characteristics of this run keeps certain rocks exposed.
