For the keen ski tourer who wants all the benefits of city life, Munich is about as good as it gets. The Bavarian city itself is charming and yet it lies only a couple of hours from some of the best ski touring areas in the Alps.

These 5 tours can all be reached in less than 2 hours driving from the capital of Bavaria and can all be done as day trips provided you don't mind an early start! Alternatively, tag a few of them together and make a weekend out of it - either way these tours are the equal of any in the Alps and are remarkably close to one of Europe's finest cities.
