Description

The Everest region is invariably most people's first destination in the Himalayas but the Annapurnas are usually the second area that trekkers explore, and for good reason. The peaks are huge and dramatic, every village has a series of comfortable (albeit basic) lodges and there are some fascinating settlements to explore.

This trip, into the Annapurna Sanctuary, is around 10 days long and takes you from lush, warm forests into the throne of the gods - the high peaks of the Nepalese Himalayas. On the expedition you will see several legendary peaks, from Machhapuchchhre (the "Fish Tail" mountain) to Annapurna 1 itself, and its famous south face.

The expedition is usually done by staying in lodges so generally you can hike with a light bag and enjoy the experience of trekking through one of Earth's finest mountain ranges.
