Nestled close to the famous ski towns of Andermatt and Engelberg (both of which have a well deserved reputation for reliable snow conditions), this tour feels surprisingly remote and is not on the radar of most ski mountaineers. Those who do make the effort to complete it will be handsomely rewarded with some stunning (and rarely climbed) mountains, separated by small and welcoming mountain huts.
The ski touring season is quite brief in the Urner Alps, and the huts have quite a short period in March/April when they are manned, so make sure you check ahead that they are open. If they aren't (but you have the conditions and weather you're looking for) you can make this route even more adventurous by staying in winter rooms and bringing your own supplies!
