The Plassen Runde is a classic among the mountain bike tours in the Salzkammergut. The Schäferalm, the Vordere Grubenalm and the "Rossalm, which is managed in summer, are the first highlights of the Plassen Round. A descent to romantic Hallstatt follows before the ascent to Gosau again.

The highlight of the Plassen round:The great feeling when you arrive at the highest point, the Durchgangalm, after the crisp ascents of the mountain bike tour!With the Plassen round, mountain bikers can expect a crisp day tour in the Dachstein Salzkammergut. About 1500 hm strong is the Plassen Runde. Some highlights pass on the 47 km. These definitely include the Rossalm, the Dachstein, the Plassen, the waterfalls in the Echerntal and the famous Hallstatt. Maybe you will discover one or the other personal highlight that we have missed so far? Option 1: Start tourist office Gosau. We drive to the Gosaubach and further up to the Steinermühle. There in several curves uphill on the gravel forest path past some huts towards the Rossalm (a detour to the Plankensteinalm is worthwhile). On the forest path we drive downhill in the Echerntal (beginning of asphalt) to Hallstatt. There on the Hallstätter Landesstraße to the crossing Gosaumühle. There turn left and then left again on the old path. This leads briefly uphill again and flows into the country road again. We drive there up to the village Gosau (Klaushof) and turn left and drive on a narrow path keeping right over the Vitalhotel back to our starting point.variant 2: Start tourism office Gosau. further to the Gosaubach. there along the right bank to Hintertal and up to the Vorderen Gosausee. Keeping left, the forest road then leads uphill to the Grubenalm junction and continues in the direction of Rossalm (a stop is worthwhile) as in variant 1. Great panorama of Gosaukamm on the ascent.
