The Salzkammergut cycle path leads through the Salzkammergut, one of the most beautiful landscapes in Austria. The area is divided into the provinces of Upper Austria, Salzburg and Styria. The thematic fixed points of the route are: the festival and Mozart city of Salzburg, Mondsee with the collegiate church, the imperial city of Bad Ischl, the salt works in Ebensee, the thermal baths in Bad Aussee and Bad Mitterndorf, the Wolfgangsee with the pilgrimage site of St. Wolfgang. Wolfgang, the Mozart village St. Gilgen, the World Cultural Heritage Region Hallstättersee with Hallstatt, the Grundlsee, Gmunden and Schloss Ort. Some stages can also be covered by bus, train or boat. In July and August the towns on the Salzkammergut lakes have high season, which means more traffic on the streets and problems with the quarters for one night.
