The tour leads through the picturesque landscape of the UNESCO World Heritage Region Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut. After the start in Bad Goisern, the tour goes along the Hallstättersee east shore. An imposing suspension bridge leads directly over the deepest point of the lake. Passing the train station of Hallstatt the round takes you further to Obertraun. A detour to the Krippenstein to the 5fingers or Welterbespirale viewing platforms is recommended here. But also the interior of the mountain invites you to take a detour, like the Dachstein Giant Ice Cave or the Mammut Cave. In the historic town of Hallstatt, too, the salt worlds offer an insight into salt mining.
