Saalbach - Hochalm, Spieleck Map

The upper area is real freeriding. The climb to the summit pays off, since you then come to the untracked slopes below. It ends in the district Lengau, from there you head back by ski bus to Hinterglemm. From the upper station of the Hochalm ski lift, head left on the ridge to the summit of the Spieleckkogel (1998m). Snowshoes or skins facilitate the 20-minute walk significantly or get either of the Speileck lifts to reduce the walking. On the ridge, be extra careful of cornices! From here you have a good overview of the terrain. From the top, face right and head along the ridge and then back to the left. At about 1750m is a ditch and going further to the right on a beautiful open space, a sparse mountain forest emerges. After crossing a forest road (1620m), it continues through the sparse forest, adheres just to the right and crosses a ditch to another forest road (1540m) to the left with a large clearing (Spieleckalm). At the lowest point of this meadow, there is a more dense young forest, keep to the right and head on a flat forest road a little later, which goes along a barbed wire fence to your left and a deeply incised stream. Along this trench, go to the forest road through steep forest and left towards a brook (1400m). Follow the forest road downhill and reach the next clearing by a serpentine (1350m). At about 1300m, this field bifurcates. Choose the left (eastern) swath. At the entrance is a large beech. On this meadow, you reach the first houses of the village Lengau. Below the houses you go to the right along the access road and head straight on for about 50m to go next to the ski bus stop on the main road. From Lengau you can head back to the ski resort.
