Mountain Biking Severe
A ripping downhill with many steep sections and twists and turns along the way. This downhill tour incorporates the Gaisstein, one of the most popular mountain bike trails in the area, into a longer route.
Beginning at the Alpincenter on the Kitzsteinhorn, head in the direction of the Häuslalm hut. From then on it is a very steep and technical descent to the Maiskogelalm hut on Maiskogel. Part of the way takes you along a narrow ridgeline, and throughout the route you can enjoy spectacular views of the Central Eastern Alps.
Severe
Widely variable, narrow trail tread with steeper grades and unavoidable obstacles of 15in/38cm tall or less. Obstacles may include unavoidable bridges 24in/61cm wide or less, large rocks, gravel, difficult root sections, and more. Ideal for advanced-level riders.
