From Hallstatt to Koppenrast (2 hours)From the tourist office in Lahn on the Seestraße to the town centre and to the pier. With the ship, these run in short distances, about the Hallstätter lake to the station Hallstatt. From there turn right along the lake on a partially asphalted path to the first boat huts of Obertraun. At a signpost turn left under the railway tracks and go uphill towards Höhenweg. Then on this beautiful hiking trail high above the houses of Obertraun valley. The rest of the way descends again near the valley and you reach the railway station Obertraun-Koppenbrüllerhöhle and the inn Koppenrast.From the Koppenrast to Bad Aussee (3.5 hours)From the Koppenrast Inn on the wide hiking trail to the entrance of the Koppenbrüller Cave (Schauhöhle) and further along the rushing Traun to the Koppental snack bar. Continue along the Traun, then cross it on a suspension bridge and the trail leads up to a forest road. Now turn right to the first houses of the village Sarstein. Continue straight ahead along the narrow road until it joins the road leading to the Sommersbergsee lake. Now turn right on this road 500 meters further, then left through a lane to the main road, which is crossed.
