The starting point this time is the imperial town of Bad Ischl. From the Gasthof Rettenbachmühle, the route is first leisurely and then steeper uphill to the Hoisnradalm. The same route or the route Hoisnrad 3 is suitable for the return journey.

Start: Gasthof Rettenbachmühle in Bad Ischl - along the old timber road into the Rettenbach valley - along the Rettenbach stream - turn right towards Grabenbachalm - turn right at Grabenbachalm - highest point (980 m), the Tauern junction - junction Leckenmoos/Hoisnrad: uphill - Hoisnradalm - either on the same route back into the Rettenbach valley or on the signposted Hoisnrad 3 into the Traun valley and back to Bad Ischl(More information: Schubert & Franzke, Salzkammergut Mountainbiking, Mountainbike map 1:50000)
