Prime Rib Map

Prime Rib gets steeper every year based on the size of the Hortsman Glacier (almost non-existant now).

Description

Prime Rib starts at the right hand side of the cliff band as you unload from 7th Heaven Chair. Drop in here or traverse across a bit towards the large rock/boulder. Any of this pitch is good although it is often large bumps rather than a powder run. Towards the bottom of the pitch, as it shallows out by the Showcase piste, there can often be avalanche and/or cornice debris.

Difficulty

Severe

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.

Low Exposure (E1)

1 out of 4

Exposure is limited to that of the slope itself. Getting hurt is still likely if the slope is steep and/or the snow is hard.

Remoteness

1 out of 4

Close to help in case of emergency.
