Rose Valley Lake Loop Map

Rose Valley is remarkably close to the hustle of West Kelowna considering how peaceful it feels. Once you're by the shore of the lake it's hard to believe that highways, box stores and suburbia lie just a couple of kilometres away. This ride is a great way of sampling a bit of Rose Valley and getting some fun riding in along the way.

Description

Park up at the Rose Valley parking lot on the corner of Rosealee Lane and Rosewood Drive and begin your hike by heading north-west up the final part of Rosewood Drive. There is space to park at the end of Rosewood Drive but please refrain from parking here - the space there is a turning circle rather than somewhere to leave your car.

Cut off the road and head due north on a wide track which leads easily towards the foot of the Rose Valley Lake dam. Shortly before the dam, branch off left and get onto "Dayz of Roses" - a technical but efficient ascent route which allows you to quickly gain some height.

When the ascent trail meets the Lake Loop, hang a right and enjoy some fun - and occasionally exposed - riding down to the shore of Rose Valley Lake. Riding alongside the lake is wonderful, so enjoy every metre as you swing around the northern end of it before making a shorter climb up to a broad col which overlooks the upper part of the Rose Valley neighbourhood.

Undulate through the eastern part of Rose Valley Park and then rip down a series of excellent, fast trails back to the parking lot.
