Angelcomb Peak Map

Angelcomb Peak is one of the more approachable summit hikes in Tombstone Territorial Park. With a trailhead located directly on the Dempster Highway, the beginning of this short 3.5-mile round-trip jaunt is easy to reach. However, even though the distance is just 1.75 miles to the summit, you'll gain a whopping 2,051 feet of elevation over that distance. This hike might be short, but it's stiff!

Description

The climb to the summit is exposed and beautiful the entire time. It follows a ridgeline almost all the way up, affording stunning views off both sides.

Note that this area is closed from May 15th to July 1st for lamb calving season.

While the trailhead for Angelcomb Peak isn't far off of the Dempster Highway, this area of the world is extremely remote and rugged. Be prepared to be entirely self-sufficient on your hike, and follow all bear safety practices.
