Alpine Climbing Extreme
This is a popular alpine climbing route which is generally considered to be extreme. It's extremely remote, it features extreme exposure and is typically done in an unknown time of year. From a low point of 5.3 km to the maximum altitude of 6.5 km, the route covers 8 km, 1211 vertical metres of ascent and 4 vertical metres of descent. You'll need ice axe, bivy kit, crampons, glacier kit and 2 ice axes to complete it safely.
From basecamp, the route to Camp One goes through the Kumbu Icefall, which is extremely challenging can take many days.
