Frozen sea crossing: from Kulusuk Airport to Tasiilaq town Map

In order to get to Tasiilaq avoiding an Heli ride, crossing the sea is the only solution. The crossing is long about 20km, with not much elevation gain if not in the last part, however is extremely difficult and dangerous due to the ice condition. In order to complete the crossing, a boat is needed to commute from one ice edge (Kulusuk's side) to the other (Tasiilaq's side). Pulkas for carrying gears are mandatory, dog sled highly recommended. Adventurers in a really good physical condition could complete it in a day, however is highly recommend to bring all the needed gear for setting up the camp for one night. This crossing requires lot of organization and monitoring of the ice layers during the whole season, don't underestimate it.
