From the Hotel Fiames car park in the like-named hamlet, take track n° 10 that immediately leads into the forest and runs along the river Boite, taking you to the chalet Spiaggia Verde in approximately one hour. The Chalet is a pleasurable stopping-point because there are lounger chairs on which you can relax and enjoy the sun, and a children’s area with play equipment. From the Chalet, carry on walking on track n° 10 until the intersection with track n° 417. Take this track and follow it until you reach the Olympia camping site, where you can cross the river and soon return to the starting-point.

Description

On track n° 417, you will see the “Librascion”, a wonderful wooden “book case” made by students at the Secondary Art School in Cortina, in cooperation with the collective organisation Regole and the local cultural association Ulda. In fact, in the Ampezzo dialect “brascion” means “tree”: the word Librascion comprises “libro” (book) and “brascion” and so it is a tree for books. You will find a selection of books: you can take one that appeals to you, or you can pause to read it at Pian de Ra Spines. If you like the idea, you could bring one or more books to add to the collection in the Librascion in order to make the day even more pleasurable for other people walking the track.

By bus to the starting point: From the bus station, take bus n° 1 towards Fiames, and get off near the Dolomiti d'Ampezzo Nature Park Information Office.

By car to the starting point: From the centre of Cortina, drive towards Dobbiaco, and when you have reached the hamlet Fiames, park near Hotel Fiames.
