Starting from Rio Gere, take the new Cristallo chairlift which in a short time will bring you to the mountain hut Rifugio Son Forca. Alternatively, you can go up to the hut with skis on, adding to the itinerary almost 530 mt of elevation gain. From there, take the path 080, passing below the old and abandoned chairlift which used to connect the Rifugio Son Forca with Rifugio Lorenzi hut, now closed. At a height of 2600 mt, continue towards right until you reach the saddle and the aforementioned hut. The vertical drop of almost 750 mt makes the use of crampons and, in certain periods, of rope, essential.
The enjoyable descent shall be made skiing down the same couloir, but with the possibility to continue along the beautiful Val Padeon, reaching the ski lifts which will bring you back to Son Forca hut.
