The Terim-Tör Bulak pass (3473m) is your first pass on the trail. Having crested the summit it's an 800m descent to the valley floor. There you cross the A364 highway (which is basically a dirt road) which heads north back to Karakol. Shortly after the road is a large river crossing. There was no bridge available but we had no problem in wading across. After drying your feet, it's a long drag up the Boz-Uchuk Ashuu pass (3363m). You'll pitch your tent and have dinner next to the stunning lake. An award for a long day of hiking.
