Alpine Climbing Severe
This is a popular alpine climbing route which is generally considered to be severe. It's very remote, it features high exposure and is typically done between June and September. From a low point of 2.9 km to the maximum altitude of 4.5 km, the route covers 7.6 km, 229 vertical metres of ascent and 1907 vertical metres of descent. You'll need ice axe, crampons and glacier kit to complete it safely.
This day can only be done in extremely good conditions. The ridge between Zumsteinspitze (4573m) and Dufourspitze (4634m) and only be guided 1:1. Option is Nordend. Alternatives are descent to Monte Rosa Hut directly after Zumsteinspitze.
