A big day on the mountain with an incredible summit as reward
Ski Touring Moderate
Starting early this big day of ascent (4 hours) is a real leg burner, the target is the remote and majestic Gross Wannenhorn, (3905m). This is the most southerly of the peaks ascended on the Bernese Oberland Traverse, and a fantastic one-day mission. After a successful summit, descend back to the Finsteraarhorn hut for a second night.
Moderate
Slopes become slightly steeper at around 25-30 degrees.
