The climb to the saddle in Cathedral Rock is a popular Sedona hike, but it's far from easy. You will need to scramble to make it up this short but steep ascent, using both your hands and feet to make forward progress through the most technical obstacles.

Description

The climb is technical, difficult, and very exposed in some places. This trail isn't for the faint of heart, but it's still achievable for most athletic hikers.

Navigation is fairly straightforward, except for where the Cathedral Rock Trail crosses the Templeton Trail. Don't get sidetracked on Templeton, and instead, continue climbing straight up to reach the saddle.

The views along this entire hike are superb, with the best views found once you reach the saddle in the rock. There's also a mystical vortex near this saddle that you can enjoy.
