Resort Ski Touring Easy
At Loveland, you can earn your turns on a huge number of runs by skinning uphill before or after hours. The resort has only one approved uphill route, but it goes all the way to the top of Ptarmigan lift, where you can have your pick of trails back down. The up-track is called Route A, and it’s typically open anytime outside of the 8:00am – 4:30pm operating hours. It follows all green runs: Home Run > Tango Road > Turtle Creek > Fire Bowl to finish at Ptarmigan Roost. With over 1000 feet of gain on easy groomers, it’s perfect for building skills and fitness on the uphill, with the added bonus of some fun downhill. That’s even better considering how close Loveland is to Denver, and right along Interstate 70. This could be your go-to mountain training course all winter long!
As of the 2021/2022 season, Loveland requires an Uphill Access Card, which is free but must be obtained at headquarters. Uphill users are responsible for knowing and following the policies and respecting terrain closures at all times. More information can be found on the resort’s Uphill Access page.
