This is a popular ski touring route which is generally considered to be severe. It's remote, it features medium exposure (e2) and is typically done between March and May. From a low point of 3.3 km to the maximum altitude of 3.6 km, the route covers 847 m, 0 vertical metres of ascent and 323 vertical metres of descent. It's graded 3.3 and Labande grade 4. You'll need skins and crampons to complete it safely.

Description

Either climb the line from the northern tarn, follow the dry shoulder to looker's right, or follow the Divide from Rollins Pass. The top may have cornices, but there are plenty of entrances to choose from so as not to deal with them.

Steep skiing at 38-45 degrees. This requires very good technique and the risk of falling has serious consequences.
