Covering plenty of distance but virtually no height gain, this is a great way of seeing some of Boston's famous sights and getting some gentle exercise.

Description

Starting in Boston and ride along the Charles River Esplanade on the Dr Paul Dudley White Path to reach Harvard University's world-famous campus in Cambridge. From the river you'll catch glimpses of historic buildings, those iconic leafy courtyards, and lucky Harvard students strolling along the riverfront.

As you approach Watertown, you'll encounter the Watertown Dam, a historic structure that spans the Charles River. Carry on a little further and then double back on yourself and ride until you enter the Charles River Reservation, a state park that stretches along the river on its southern shore. Here, you'll ride through wooded areas, marshlands, and meadows, making it a nice contrast to the urban environment.

Shortly before getting back to Boston you'll reach the Charles River Esplanade, a beautiful parkland that runs along the river and contains cultural landmarks like the Hatch Shell.

Roll back into Boston and enjoy exploring the city centre.
