Description

The combination of huge mountains, a network of cable cars and reliable weather make Innsbruck a fabulous place for bikers to head. The town is perhaps best known for its technical biking but there are also 1000s of kilometres of jeep tracks in the hills above Innsbruck, and these provide virtually endless opportunities for easy, stress-free biking.

The routes listed here are all suitable for beginners, but several of them will require a good level of fitness, so bear in mind that the "easy" part only refers to the technical level - you'll still need a bit of grunt to get them all done!

As with so many of the adventures around Innsbruck, these can all be reached using the city's excellent public transport network, and all 5 will take you to at least one Tirolian mountain hut!

Adventures

3 Alms Tour

Taking in no less than 3 excellent mountain huts, this is a medium-difficulty mountain bike ride with superb views on the southern side of the Inn valley.

Mutters Loop

A medium difficulty, circular route on the southern side of the Inn Valley. The elevation gain is just under 900m, but all the uphill is covered in the first half, allowing for an easy finish after lunch!
