Description

Pralognan-la-Vanoise, in the heart of the Vanoise peaks and immediately east of the World's largest ski area (the 3 Valleys), is a wonderful place to learn the ski touring game. There are peaks of all shapes and sizes, a good lift and road network to access them, and a charming town to serve as a base camp.

There are plenty of extremely adventurous tours above the town (if you don't believe us then check out this little lot - https://fatmap.com/guidebooks/14236/challenging-big-mountain-ski-tours-above-pralognan) but, as evidenced by the routes in this guidebook, there are also some good options for those starting out in their journey to becoming ski tourers. The tours listed here are generally quite long but none feature any truly difficult skiing so provided you're skilled, fit and able to handle yourself in the winter mountain environment, these tours should be attainable.

We can't do much about the snow conditions on these tours but epic views and fun, smile-inducing descents are guaranteed!
