5 superb cross-country skiing trails to get you out there.
By many measures, Flims Laax Falera is one of Switzerland’s biggest ski areas. It is also situated in the gorgeous canton of Grabünden, famous for enchanting alpine vistas and its large number of ginormous 4000-metre peaks. Dominating the Flims Laax Falera resort is the impressive Vorab Glacier, a 2km wide, 3000-metre altitude glacier which forms part of the Glarus Alps.
Below the snow-capped peaks lie carpets of emerald forests, frozen alpine lakes, sweeping planes and narrow valleys. Luckily there is a diverse network of cross-country trails to help you explore all corners of this winter wonderland.
If you want to meander through thick forest and along the famous Rhine Gorge, then try the ‘Cross-country Ski Trail Flims Conn’ adventure. But if you would rather a snow-sure, high valley experience with panoramic views, head for the ‘Langlaufloipe Bargis Trail’.
