Description

Bormio is a beautiful, low-key medieval town in the alpine region of Sondrio, in northern Italy. If you want a place that's easy to get around, with extremely diverse nature, and delicious ice cream to finish off a long day out in the mountains, then make Bormio your hiking destination.

Located in the Stelvio National Park, Bormio is surrounded by the Central Italian Alps, and it has the full spectrum of alpine flora and fauna right on its doorstep. Spot everything from marmots, foxes, and squirrels roaming the forests to ravens, grouses, and golden eagles in the sky.

The adventures in this guidebook are all relatively short, flat, and include places to stop for a rest and refuel along the way. If you want a forest walk with a lovely picnic spot, then try the Pravasivo – Uzza – Bormio route. For glorious mountain vistas and no uphill, go for Bormio 2000 – Bormio Hike.

Adventures

Bormio 2000 –> Bormio

Rifugio Branca: Giro dei Ponti Tibetani

Spectacular ring tour that allows you to admire up close the Forni Glacier, crossing the bed just below the first basal step, where until not many decades ago came the tongue. It can be travelled in both directions and is suitable for everyone.
