Description

In most mountain ranges these 3 peaks would be full-day affairs involving huge uphill efforts and knee-grinding descents. However, because they are in the Zillertal and are all accessed from cable cars, they can each be done in a half day. The really keen might even consider doing 2 of these in the same day, but a nicer option is to do one hike per morning and then spend your afternoons enjoying the terraces of mountain huts!

2 of the hikes are accessed from downtown Mayrhofen via the Ahornbahn and Penkenbahn cable cars, and the third - the Karspitze - starts from the top of the Zell am Ziller lift system. None of the hikes are technical in any way and all enthusiastic and moderately fit hikers will be able to tackle them easily.

The lack of challenge presented by these peaks means that you can get on with enjoying the views which climbing them provides. The high peaks of the Zillertal provide a fabulous backdrop and each of the 3 summits gives a unique perspective on them. Enjoy cruising your way up these mountains and picking out a lifetime's worth of future hiking projects!
