Description

In this guidebook you'll find a selection of must-do hikes to experience the warm welcome and traditional aromas of Cortina’s mountain lodges and huts, and admire the many panoramic viewpoints looking onto the magnificent Dolomitic peaks and the Ampezzo valley.

Many of these routes are inside the Ampezzo Dolomites Natural Park, an 11,200-hectare area that enables you to enjoy a wide range of alpine landscapes of great naturalistic interest and habitats with a high degree of biodiversity, amongst the richest and least contaminated of the Dolomites. Indeed, the park is home to many animal species, including little owls and chamois.

Walk under the majestic Tofana di Rozes, go through hidden valleys between Mount Cristallo and Pomagagnon, look at your reflection in the water of the beautiful Lake Federa, or take a comfortable cable car all the way up to Mount Faloria. In Cortina, you are spoilt for choice.
