Description

There aren't many villages - even in Switzerland - with views as dramatic as those found around Grindelwald. The imposing and rocky Wetterhorn north face hangs over the village, and the mighty Eiger north face looms ominously in the middle distance. Get a little higher on the mountains above the village and many of the other Bernese Oberland giants such as the Schreckhorn, Mönch and Jungfrau all appear on the horizon.

Grindelwald is also rare in that the quality of riding matches that of the scenery - many places have either epic scenery or riding but Grindelwald has both. We've described 4 rides here; 2 "approach" days which get you from the gorgeous town of Lucerne to Grindelwald via a night in Innertkirchen, a fast and furious downhill route, and then an epic journey through Kleine Scheidegg and down to Lauterbrunnen.

You'll struggle to find 4 better rides than these, and the fact that they sit beneath some of the most legendary mountains in the World only enhance them. So if you want to experience one of Switzerland's most beautiful villages and see some of the finest scenery in Europe, get pedalling!
