Climb to the top of the Kitzbühl local's favourite mountain!
6 hikes recommended by Kitzbühel locals, from lake loops to intense summits!
Kitzbühel is a pretty medieval mountain town in the western Austrian province of Tyrol. It attracts keen skiers with the world-famous Hahnenkamm downhill race, as well as well-heeled holidaymakers who want to shop, wine, and dine in the many exclusive establishments that line the town’s high street. Kitzbühel is not yet on the map for hiking, but it really should be!
There are two mountains in the heart of Kitzbühel: the Hahnenkamm and the Kitzsteinhorn. Both have a unique topography and character, and both are covered in excellent hikes. The Hahnenkamm is very well maintained with shiny glass viewing platforms, multiple restaurants, playgrounds, and facilities. The Kitzbühlerhorn, on the other hand, is pretty much just pure, wild nature (apart from the odd mountain hut where you can fill your boots after a long day out in the elements!)
In this guidebook, you will find summit hikes for both the Hahnenkamm and the Kitzbühlerhorn, as well as many other routes to get you exploring Kitzbühel by foot.
