Description

The Mammoth Lakes region offers mountain bike trails with difficulties for every rider, from pros to absolute beginners. In fact, it's rare to find singletrack that's as mellow, flowy, and beginner-friendly as you can enjoy here in Mammoth.

Many of Mammoth's best beginner trails are found in the Discovery Zone in the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park. "The Discovery Zone is the best place to learn in the country," writes Mammoth Mountain. "It is the only area on the mountain dedicated 100% to progression for riders of all ages. With 3 beginner trails, an intermediate trail, a Skills Park, and a beginner-friendly lift, the learning experience at Mammoth is beyond compare. Smooth trails, berms lined with cement pavers, and gradual slopes are what to expect in this truly extraordinary area that is perfect for riders of all abilities."

In addition to the easiest downhill trails, we've also included an excellent selection of pedal-driven trail rides in this guidebook. If you’re pedaling, start out on Uptown -> Downtown, and work your way up from there.

Whether you're riding the lifts or pedaling up the mountain, Mammoth is the place to hone your riding skills!
