Size Matters: Whistler Wonder Route

A ski itinerary showcasing Whistler Blackcomb’s immensity. Incorporating a variety of runs with epic views, this route takes you all over the mountains.

Description

Whistler Blackcomb is by many measures the largest ski resort in North America. With over 8,000 acres of skiable terrain and 200 trails, it’s hard to know where to begin. Following The Wonder Routes is like being guided by a local- here you have an expertly crafted collection of routes each with its own special character and ability level. The routes will take you on a seamless journey around the mountains so that you get the most out of your ski day.

Route instructions for Size Matters:

Merlin’s Bar and Grill

Beginning at the base of Blackcomb, grab a snack at Merlin’s Bar and Grill before starting your epic journey up the mountain. To reach the top of Blackcomb Glacier you need to take 4 lifts-hop on Wizard Express and then Solar Coaster Express, followed by an easy flat traverse along Expressway to 7th Heaven Express. At the top of 7th Heaven Express ski down the winding Crystal Traverse to the bottom of the Showcase T-Bar, and ride it to the top of Blackcomb Glacier.

Ski down the Blackcomb Glacier and take the intermediate trail Blackcomb Glacier Road to Excelerator Express.

Peak 2 Peak Gondola

From Excelerator, take the Jersey Cream Express to the Peak 2 Peak Gondola and head over to Whistler Mountain.

Whistler Peak

When you arrive on Whistler Mountain, take the Peak Express Chairlift up to Whistler Peak

**Peak to Creek **

From Whistler Peak, ski around to the right of the peak and get onto the Upper Peak-to Creek, a stunning groomer taking you all the way from the peak down to the valley.

7 Dusty’s Bar & BBQ

At the end of Peak-to -Creek you’ll see signs for Highway 86, bearing off to the right. Highway 86 is a generally uncrowded, regularly groomed run taking you to the mid- station. Here you will connect up to Lower Peak-to- Creek, finishing your adventure at Whistler Creekside, conveniently next to the renowned watering hole, Dusty’s Bar & Grill.
