Description

With a west-east bike traverse of the range, a south-north ski crossing of it and 2 big adventures on foot into its central ridge line, this guidebook is a great introduction to the wonders of the Karwendel National Park.

Nestled just behind Innsbruck and not far south of Munich, you'd imagine that the Karwendel would be a busy place, overrun with tourists, but nothing could be further from the truth - the Karwendel is utterly wild and must surely rank as one of Europe's most barren mountain ranges. The peaks are high and rocky, the valleys deep and cold, and the few mountain huts which dot the range are remote and rugged. All in all, the Karwendel is a pretty exciting place to explore, and your efforts in doing so will be handsomely rewarded.

The Karwendel combines epic views with total wilderness - there aren't many places in western Europe which feel as remote and untouched as the peaks you'll pass through in the process of ticking these routes, and whether you choose to pass through them on foot, bike or ski - this guidebook has you covered!
