A scenic cruise through a famous Ladin valley.
Combine the wonderful scenery of the Dolomites with great riding and some of the World's best food.
If you ask 100 people to name the nations with the finest cuisine on Earth, Italy would make virtually every list. Pizza, pasta, olives and ubiquitous fresh ingredients have made the country famous for simple food, done well.
Italy is also famous for its scenery, and nowhere is it finer than in the limestone towers of the Dolomites. Deep valleys, full of rich Ladin and Tirolian culture, find themselves loomed over by huge rocky monoliths to create a landscape like nowhere on Earth. It all adds up to make the Dolomites a truly unique place both scenically and culturally, and the biking isn't too bad either...
The rides listed here are all at the moderate end of the scale, with some fun singletrack terrain but nothing too tricky. The rides were selected because they all take you to some of the best mountain restaurants in the Dolomites, whether they be high mountain huts or quiet pizzerias in the back streets of peaceful villages. With the exception of the trip to the Rifugio Pederü, none of the rides described go directly to an eatery, but all are designed with the riding to take priority, and the wonderful cuisine you'll encounter en route to be a delicious little bonus!
