Skid down slabs and schralp berms on the very best mountain bike trails in the epic destination of Squamish, BC!

Greg Heil

Description

Situated halfway along the Sea to Sky Highway between Vancouver and Whistler, Squamish is right in the heart of one of the best mountain biking regions on earth. But with a dedicated group of riders shredding the mountains around Vancouver, and then hitting the road to head to the mountain bike mecca of Whistler, the stopover town of Squamish used to get overlooked.

Not anymore.

Anybody in the know will tell you that the mountain biking in Squamish is hands-down some of the best in the world. In fact, if you compare the caliber of the human-powered trail riding (ie, outside of a bike park) in Squamish to that of Whistler, well… most riders will agree that Squamish's trails are even better. You might be shocked to hear it, but it's true!

The scene in Squamish only continues to get better year after year. ExploreSquamish.com explains it well: "cultivated over years of sustainable trail development by a vibrant culture of local mountain bikers and trail builders, Squamish is home of some of Canada's best mountain biking trails," they write. "There are trails here for all ages and abilities that are easily accessible for those who live life on two wheels. Technical singletrack, long rock slabs, fast, loamy descents, jump trails, climb trails and pump tracks, Squamish is a mountain biker's paradise."
