There are oodles of alpine highlights to explore by foot in the Albertville region of France. Boasting many signed walking trails through a variety of terrains, the region of Albertville has long been a top destination for hikers. Enjoy spectacular views of Mont Blanc, scramble up to summits and pass through large areas of mountain pastures. From strenuous climbs to meandering paths through meadows and circular trails taking you around the many mountain lakes, these 8 hiking routes have it all.

As well as stunning scenery the Savoie region is also famous for its delicious alpine cuisine. So at the end of a strenuous day’s hiking, make sure to sample of of the many hearty savoyard mountain dishes such as tartiflette, cheese fondue or raclette.
